God Save the Queen

This past weekend into today there was a lot of televising about Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee and watching it got me thinking - boy do I wish I were British.

They just have so much pride in the nation and in the royal family. I mean they were in the cold and rain - I can't imagine standing outside in those conditions just to barely be able to see some boat with some famous people on it. However these aren't just any famous people I guess, it's the royal family which takes things to a whole other level.

One thing I love about the royal family is the clothes. I'm obsessed with how Kate Middleton dresses. She always looks so tailored. And even though she was wearing one of those hats that the English always are wearing she made it look stylish. Unlike some of those hats that appeared at the royal wedding. Plus the red was amazing on her.

Camilla's hat on the other hand  was bit much for me. Honestly maybe it's because she's older and that's just what happens, you begin picking out obnoxious hats that you are convinced make you look better or younger but it really did nothing to help her out in my opinion. But then again, I don't think I've ever seen Camilla wear something that makes me go "Oh My God, she looks amazing in that".

The Queen, is adorable. She is an amazing woman. I found it interesting that they were saying during the Jubilee that the Queen doesn't like the color beige. I feel like that's the first older woman that I've ever heard of not liking beige. I guess that means that she wasn't a big fan of Camilla's outfit - someone who I feel like should have known that the Queen doesn't like the color beige. Although maybe that just means that the Queen doesn't like wearing the color beige herself.

Also I give the Queen a lot of credit. She stayed on that boat out in the rain for most of the procession down the Thames. And she was standing. Stuff like this also makes me think that the Queen would be someone fun to hang out with and maybe grab a drink with. However, I don't think she'd want to drink something like Pimm's (which apparently is very popular in England). I think that she would be a scotch drinker.

Anyway, watching things like the Queen's Diamond Jubilee or the royal wedding makes me really want to be British. The people seem so united and proud of their country. However, maybe I should only try being British for a day lol not sure if I could handle all the rain.

God Save the Queen!
